The Department of Health
Environments and Systems is a multi-specialty department
supporting the School of Nursing tripartite mission of
teaching, practice, and research in the areas of community
health nursing, psychiatric-mental health nursing, nursing
administration, and nursing informatics. The department
focuses on understanding health and disease within the
context of social and physical environmental factors,
culturally sensitive nursing interventions for vulnerable
populations in community systems, managing quality nursing
care in complex health systems, and analysis of health
policy.
