Description: The Robert B. Greenblatt, M.D. Library invites applications for Electronic Resources Management Librarian (ERML), a faculty position that assumes a leadership role in managing resource access and electronic resource data analysis. The incumbent shares responsibility in a team setting for integrated acquisitions, management, access and delivery of electronic resources, monitors current trends in access and electronic resource management and administers use of electronic resource management systems and tools, especially EzProxy and SFX. The ERML shares responsibility for training and oversight of staff involved in e-resource support.
Responsibilities
The ERML functions as a member of the Greenblatt Library’s electronic resources and collection management teams, contributing expertise with emphasis on electronic books and databases, data analysis and administration of resource management systems and tools. This librarian spearheads e-resource troubleshooting, collaborating on timely resolution of access management problems. The Librarian identifies and analyzes data useful to acquisitions, collection development and institutional reporting, extracting data from a variety of sources including electronic resource management tools, Voyager, Library and vendor websites. The ERML shares leadership with the Serials Librarian for management and administration of electronic resources and with the Systems Librarian for management of ERM systems and tools. This Librarian coordinates and arranges e-resource trials, obtains licenses and electronic resource agreements, and assists with licensing as requested. Collaborating with other team members, the Librarian participates in ongoing activity to assure optimal access to the Library’s collections and to enhance the Library’s digital resource interfaces.
Qualifications
The Electronic Resources Management Librarian must have a Masters degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program, a minimum of two years of experience in an academic library or consortium, and the ability to function as a faculty member in areas of education, scholarship and research. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires meeting the criteria established by MCG for promotion to that rank.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, analytical team player and a skillful communicator capable of multitasking and effective project management, with experience in using and administering an electronic resource management system and other resource management tools and software. The experience will include troubleshooting electronic resource access problems, e-resource data analysis and reporting, experience working with publishers and vendors of electronic resources and licensing and shared electronic resource agreements. Understanding of practices and trends in scholarly publishing and communication, technology, Library and Web 2.0 developments is expected.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Skill in the use of electronic resource management tools, preferably EZProxy, SFX, Serials Solutions and Verde. Work experience in an academic health sciences library and project management experience are preferred.

Salary and Benefits
This position has faculty rank and status (non-tenure track). Benefits include a competitive health package, and TIAA/CREF and other retirement options. Minimum salary is $42,000.
