MCG Alma Mater

The MCG Alma Mater was written and composed by students during the 2001-02 academic year. Appreciation is extended to students Amy Alvarez, Daniel Claassen, Stephen J. Simko III and Amy Whitmire for their contributions, and to Drs. Talmadge A. Bowden Jr., John F. Fisher and Louie H. Griffin Jr., who served as faculty advisors. Special recognition is extended to Dr. Lois T. Ellison for her role as a leader in bringing the Alma Mater to fruition.

Lyrics

From thy humble times of childhood
Stood your mission clear:
Changing faces, forms and features
Still your vision's here.

Refrain:
MCG, our Alma Mater,
We will honor thee.
Keep us mindful of thy purpose
Bind our loyalty.

As we seek to heal and comfort
Let us strive to know
How to master times of trial,
And compasssion show.

Refrain.

Now we go like those before us
Joined in unity;
Though our paths and journeys differ,
Bind us MCG.

Refrain.
