Lucy N. MarionDr. Lucy Marion joined MCG in 2004 as dean of the School of Nursing. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the University of South Carolina and a PhD in nursing science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Marion served on the University of South Carolina College of Nursing faculty from 1968 to 1993, at which time she joined the University of Illinois at Chicago faculty.
She has published extensively in the areas of her research focus, including sexual risk reduction among high-risk women, chronic mental illness, and nursing education.
She is a principal investigator or co-investigator of grants totaling more than $5.5 million, including approximately $4 million in National Institutes of Health funding.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International, the nursing honor society, and the American Academy of Nursing, the profession's highest honor.
